Design Thinking And You

Design Thinking And You

Say the word design and most people envision physical consumer products and stop there.  But design, and especially design thinking has much more potential.

We can use design thinking to improve our personal and professional lives and experiences.  Design thinking is a process where problems can be solved or opportunities seized through the development of creative solutions.

Imagine that you need a really radical approach to a particularly challenging personal or professional problem.   Instead of just reacting to the problem, or relying entirely on logic alone, design thinking goes to the human aspects of problem solving or opportunity creation.

By re-framing the approach to problem solving, and using creativity, new innovative solutions can be developed.   This is design thinking and it can essentially be applied to any problem or opportunity, including your personal life and professional life.

Design thinking can be used to:

  • Improve relationships at home or work

  • Find work-life balance

  • Transition from one life stage to another

  • Retire and begin anew

  • Find the next great employer

  • Find ways to work for yourself in the You Economy

You can design a better life or work experience by incorporating design thinking into your problem solving and opportunity identification.
